CHRONUS
Android development specialising in stopwatch applications. One man operation started in 2011. Currently have three popular stopwatch applications on Google Play, all with a 4.5+ rating and all gaining good traction globally. I aim to be the provider of the best stopwatches for the Android platform.
Technology
My primary Android stopwatch application "Stopwatch" has now reached top 6+ global placement on Google Play for the popular search term " Stopwatch". I currently have 100,000+ active users and 3,000+ daily downloads with a 70% retention rate. I expect to reach my first Million within the next 6 months.

Basically my original launcher icon is no longer up to the job and I would like a high quality replacement to better convey the quality of the application and drive more downloads.
My requirements are.
1) To convey the concept of a higher quality TRADITIONAL stopwatch against that of
the competition. Google Play is largely a battlefiled for icon designs.
.. the stronger conceptual design always lead to more click throughs and
higher downloads leading to higher placement.
2) Transparent background object style icons using the alpha channel. No square backgrounds or outlines please.
3) Clean and simple so that scaled down versions still look good.
4) Metallic colors for the icon. silver, chrome, gold. maybe with more vibrant colors for the hands.
5) Some notiion of time passing, movement, urgency would be great.
6) Design must follow Google Launcher Icon Guidelines:

7) High quality original design at 512 x 512px resolution that scales down well to 36 x 36px.
8) To provide icons at the following resolutions: 512 x 512, 96 x 96, 72 x 72 , 48 x 48 , 36 x 36.
9) Launcher icons should be 32-bit PNGs with an alpha channel for transparency.
10) Must be Global .. so no text please. My application name is internationalized from Stopwatch to, chronometre, cronometro, Stoppuhr and so on.
