Peace Football Club picked a winning design in their logo design contest
For just US$295, they received 59 designs from 8 designers.
My experience with my first design contest (for a logo) was so good that I am challenged to find any suggestions. Peace Football was delighted with the quality of logos that we got from our 99designs contest - so much so that we picked two winners. We couldn't decide from all of the wonderful designs we received (quite a bit more than the estimate provided up front when we picked the level of design contest we were hosting). We would heartily recommend 99designs and plan to use the company for future design projects. It is a very well run operation with easy-to-use tools that produces fantastic results. The designers are not only talented, but very accommodating to fussy clients like us. — Peace FC

Peace Football Club
Peace Football Club (or Peace FC) is about cause, content, commerce, community and campaigns. 1) Causes: world peace and peace activism through our shared passion for football/soccer; the Peace FC Foundation funding peace- and education-oriented initiatives. 2) Content: the Peace FC Survey that explores how we are similar and different from our rivals by looking at how we play soccer - and what we can do to build bridges between rivals; also photos and videos of peace signs on football pitches (the center circle of a soccer pitch becomes a peace sign with two quick little lines). 3) Commerce: sales of Peace FC apparel and football gear, a portion of proceeds going to the Peace FC Foundation. Community: millions of supporters and Peace FC Ambassadors via our web site, Facebook and Twitter. Campaigns: numerous peace, education, fair play, peace signs on pitches, awards for playing fair and promoting peace, and sponsorship campaigns.

Several things:
I have already applied for tradsemarks ont he name and logos you see here - but I am wondering if I need to have any symbol to note that on the logo you do. I do not see that on other logos on your site - so I leave that to you.
A peace sign is made by connecting the center of a circle to the 4:30 and 7:30 marks on a clock if you think of it that way - or by bisecting the lower two quadrants in half exactly - or by marking the 1/8th segment at 7:30 and 4:30 - and I would like it to be as precise as possible as the versions you see here that I mocked up are (noticeably) not.
A soccer/football pitch includes a center circle that is easily converted to a peace sign with the addition of the two more lines (since the center circle is already cut in half top to bottom). So I want the logo to reflect that this is a peace sign on the center of a soccer pitch - hence the vertical lines extending above and below the circle.
Target audience is global - passionate about football - interested in tough but fair play - supportive of efforts to use football and our shared interests and passions to build bridges between our differences - etc. This is modern thinking in some parts of the world. There is an educational component.
The logo should be able to be used on apparel, soccer gear, etc. - but also as a bumper sticker - and it should lead people to the web site where there will be content, causes, community, and campaigns that promote activism, education, and peace.
Thank you. I love what you are doing and appreciate the input.
