Since 1986, Response Training Programs has provided crisis intervention seminars and consultation around the world to private and nonprofit organizations both large and small - serving children, adolescents, adults, and elders.
Response Training Programs serves agencies and institutions that are committed to developing an organizational and cultural norm of safety and non-violence as a basis for overall success in the workplace. Those organizations that find most success with the Response Protocol are looking for an effective, efficient, sustainable crisis intervention model for their staff, and who can support Response - trained staff in the workplace as they implement the program.
The Response Protocol establishes "safety first" as a crisis management strategy. Response teaches effective non-physical and physical techniques to achieve safety and de-escalation goals, and presents staff with an evidence-based approach to crisis intervention that acknowledges and promotes trauma-informed interventions.
The training seminars are experiential and consistently challenge staff to self-assess their intervention style and effectiveness in crisis management situations. Direct Support Professionals learn to focus their attention on attainable goals in order to act rather than react in a crisis situation. Emphasis here is on developing verbal intervention skills and a holistic preventative approach, diminishing the use of hands-on physical techniques. In the Response Protocol, Direct Support Professionals are trained to use effective physical techniques when all other crisis management strategies have been exhausted.
Response Training Programs provides comprehensive staff development training.
