markrtibbetts got their new banner ad by running a design contest:
Banner Ad Promoting Recycling of Fluorescent Bulbs (contains mercury)
Check out markrtibbetts's Banner ad contest…
NEMA administers a mercury-added (fluorescent) lamp (light bulb) recycling program in two Northern New England states (Maine and Vermont). The program provides no-cost (free) recycling through the voluntary participation of over 400 retail and municipal (local government managed) collection locations.
What's your vision?
We need creative for a Facebook/Instagram advertisement (1200x630) promoting the recycling of fluorescent lightbulbs in the states of Maine and Vermont (USA). The campaign will target users interested in recycling, the environment, and motivated by compliance with Maine and Vermont law that prohibits disposal of these types of bulbs in the trash (they contain mercury). The website www.lamprecycle.org is a reference for the campaign. Please feel free to use design elements from the site, color palette, or themes. We do not have the native art file for the logo, but preference will be given to ads that incorporate the logo. The ad should include a link to "Learn More" that will lead to a landing page with further details. Key messages, in no order of importance include: ---It's Free to Recycle ---Contains mercury (incorporating the HG-in-Circle image) --- Disposal in the trash is Prohibited Attached is a rough sketch of a print add currently in design (see our other contest on 99designs).
Feel free to be creative. We are a modest program that doesn't have a strong brand identity that allows us to be creative-- our goal is to click so different and unique is good. Please also know the winner will be asked to resize this ad to 1080x1080. Finally, we will need a range of display ads in multiple sizes ranging from 160x600 to 782x90. The winner will likely be asked to work directly with us on that creative as well.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Banner ad starts at $69.

And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
