Today, the Charlotte Bobcats organization will be revealing their new brand identity. On what is deemed “Buzz City Night“, the Bobcats will announce that they will be going back to the Charlotte Hornets. Goodbye to the Bobcats, and welcome back to the Hornets!
Upon hearing this, we asked our designers to create their own version of the new logo, featuring the iconic Hugo the hornet. The turnout was awesome once again. A high-five to all the designers that participated in this contest — you all did amazing and it was tough to narrow it down.
After receiving over 1,100 entries from our designers, we are proud to announce the winner as well as the great runners-up!
And the winner is: Eren G.

Eren G., a Turkish designer, did a great job at modernizing the classic Hornet, which shows great ferocity guarding the basketball. The logo is very NBA friendly and the alternate logos, which pay homage to Charlotte’s nickname “Queen City,” could be used in all forms of media and merchandise.
