Fantastic work, and great attention to detail. We had many fine designs to choose from, and his work stood out from the rest. I will definitely seek out this artist in the future.

Book cover for a historical novel starting in 1772 in England and ending in 1774 in the colonial United States. The primary character is a young woman aged 16 at the beginning and 18 at the end. She starts with her heart tied to England but as the novel progresses, she sees the conflicts and injustices imposed on the colonies and begins to question her loyalty to England and its King. This is the first of three novels in a series. Metaphorically, she is on the path of being a US patriot but at this point is closer to the England and its king.
Title for cover:
Path of a Patriot: The Die is Now Cast

The "Cover Examples" document shows some covers of other books that appeal to the author. We would like to have an image of a young woman in colonial era dress on the front though her face doesn't need to be visible (as in most of the cover examples) and we envision the author picture going on the back cover. Other than that, the graphics designer has the freedom to be creative. The "Cover Ideas" document gives some ideas of very rough graphics that might be used.
Didn't mention it originally, but the primary character (young woman aged 16 to 18) is blond.
We're looking for a paperback cover design first. Once we pick one, we'll be looking at modifying it to be used as a hardback cover too.
