appletownO got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Book cover: songbook for kids
Check out appletownO's Book cover contest…
Linda Condon has written more than forty children’s songs as part of her Appletowne Playground Collection. Appletowne's songs have been featured in school stage-productions, in classroom plays, and in preschool music activities. Linda lives in Litchfield, Connecticut, and majored in English, with a Concentration in Writing, and a Minor in Music, from St. Joseph University in West Hartford. She is a past recipient of the Peter Brazeau Award for Writing. Her novel, Working Heaven, is available from Barnes and Noble Press.
With lyrics that inspire imagination and melodies that move and sway with the wind, Grandma’s Songs from Appletowne Playground celebrates the school year from September to June. Fall begins with lively rhythms about the big yellow school bus coming down the road and the woes of kids who don't like to do their homework. The holidays sing about turkeys and pumpkins, grandma’s house, and a very rosy-cheeked elf. Winter is all snow and mittens and cackling chickens, two beavers beating drums and a fuzzy-wuzzy-grizzly bear that wiggled as he hummed. Spring sings about sunshine and playgrounds and warm and breezy school vacations!

Book cover type
Other color requirements
reds, blues, light happy colors, but I am open to suggestions
I will provide an image of an apple tree, swing, and distant town. The design should be colorful, but tasteful, eye-catching and simple.
What to avoid
Gaudy, pop-culture icons/lettering. Loud and disturbing clutter. Interested in exploring background colors, letter colors, sizing. I am willing to consider other images, but I prefer to explore the one I will upload and see how it can be enhanced.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
appletownO collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
