Here are 3 passages from the book. Please feel free to be creative. These passages may help give you a feel for the abilities of the mummy and possible background scenery. One background could be dark underground catacombs or one could be out in a desert with a big storm in the background. Note that the mummies’ wrappings are animated/controlled by the creature to move and grab people. The background could also just be smoky/dark with the mummy and his wrappings lashing about as the central feature.
The “Cimeter of the Ages” sword is important to the story, but doesn’t have to be in the cover. Could be included possibly on the back?? Not sure.
#1 Excerpt: The mummy encounters the heroes in underground catacombs lined with tombs. (see picture 1)
"The mummy was very dreadful. He was large, bigger than an average man. He was covered with wrappings like other mummies, but they were woven with more perfection, and moved in his control. He also wore bone armor, and had glowing green eyes. His heart was also glowing green through his bony ribs. Atalo and Adi could see that his heart was the source of his power.
"What do you want?" Adi asked.
"This isn't what I want. This is what I am paid to do," said the mummy.
The mummy raised his arms, and then used his powers over all the tombs.
"Unus, Deahuocatus!" the mummy shouted.
Green fire spread from his wrappings and his green heart. The fire spread past Atalo and Adi, having no affect on them. It targeted all the tombs in the stone catacombs. Then all the tomb cases opened, and the skeletons climbed from their tombs with weapons and chains to kill Atalo and Adi.
"Farewell," said the mummy.
The creature crawled like a spider with all its wrappings, passing the catacombs and the tombs, getting away with his crime. Adi and Atalo would have tried to kill the monster, but they had to defend themselves from the skeletons, raised from the dead."
#2 EXCERPT:The hero, Atalo, sees the Cimeter of the Ages in the catacombs after defeating the mummy. (see picture 2)
… Atalo was left standing in the catacombs alone. Atalo was about to make his way up, following Avron, but then he noticed something. Atalo saw that one of the tombs hadn't opened. It was because the tomb was a shrine for a sword preserved in glass. Atalo looked back at Avron and Adi to ask them about the blade, but they were both already gone.
Atalo took another look at the sword, removing the glass case over it. He had an overwhelming desire to touch it and examine it, to the point that his hand tingled a bit. Atalo then took the sword out of its sheath, and admired its design. The hilt was silver, and it had a curved blade like other swords in Egersha, but its craftsmanship was different from any other blade Atalo had ever seen before.
(The sword has 8 jewels. Each jewel is a different color: white, light blue, red, yellow, green, dark blue, violet, and brown. The sword hilt comes over the hand to protect the hand. A sample drawing is attached but feel free to tweak to make it cooler. )
#3 The heroes encounter the mummy in the desert. In the background is an anomaly called the Eternal Storm which is described below. There is a bridge crossing the storm called the Bridge of Ratica. (see picture 3)
"Atalo, Avron, and Maximus got to their feet with swords drawn and teeth bared. The mummy stood over the sand with the wrappings around him, coming off and lashing about like tentacles.
"Now, do you want to save your energy, and give me the sword, or shall we do this: how do you say it? 'the hard way'?" the mummy asked darkly.
“It is still disappointing you couldn’t find the cimeter on your own,” said Atalo.
“My young confused knight, you were meant to obtain it in order to hand it over to me. Powerful enchantments watched over it, so I could not retrieve it with my own power. You, on the other hand, are of the light, and the sword trusts you to be in your possession. I expected Adi to take it and continue to search for me so I could take it from his corpse, but I am sure you will not have to perish like he would have. Give it to me, and I can make arrangements for you to live,” said the mummy.

The Bridge of Ratica was a wide stone wall that worked as a passageway between Egersha and Ratica Jungle. It was a legendary monument, built by the three Sorcerers of Atria to provide passage through the Eternal Storm.
Many years ago the Eternal Storm was cast as a spell to provide endless rain to the deserts of Egersha. It was an abuse of magic against nature, the spell turned into a curse. The storm inhabited the sand below it, engulfing all the land into a storm itself. The sand swelled and lurched violently with the power of the storm. Lightning flew wildly from the sky and sand. The bridge was created as the only way to safely navigate the storm and the only way to pass on land from Egersha to Oramus. "
