Mark Grant MA CLOSED -
Mark Grant is an Australian psychologist/researcher and writer. Mark is particularly interested in developing resources that sufferers of pain and stress can use to make a real difference in their suffering. Reflecting his origins as the son of an artist and an engineer, he likes to take a creative but practical approach; ie, outside-the-square strategies that harness the brains’ natural healing capacities. Namely, strategies that appeal to sensory-emotional aspects of brain functioning rather than cognitive. As recent discoveries in neuroscience suggest, such strategies are more intuitive, and quicker. But he maintains a scientific approach and has conducted several studies regarding the efficacy of EMDR as a treatment for chronic pain. His Anxiety Release app stimulated the first published account of an app being used to overcome chronic pain. Mark is also the author of ‘Overcomingpain’ (app) and ‘Pain Control with EMDR’ (clinical treatment manual).
Designed for sufferers of chronic pain this book explains how the brain is involved in pain and how to harness the power of Neuroplasticity to change the brain activity that maintains pain. The book comes with 15 audio downloads to help readers implement the various self-help strategies described in the book.
