brian5F got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Create a book cover for a new, dark murder thriller!

Run: A Novel
Run is a (serial) murder/thriller novel with a very calculated, intelligent serial killer who kills over multiple decades while hiding in plain sight. Note: this is not a HORROR novel. Please see the uploaded examples.
Hopefully a pretty broad American audience; definitely adults 18+. People into psychological thrillers. It is not gory or "scary."
Book cover type
Don’t know yet
I don't want this to be a literal interpretation of a person "going for a run." Rather, the plot is that someone is "on the run" and that someone should "run away." It is also NOT a horror novel. It's about a woman who ingratiates herself into communities and then manipulates people, ultimately ending in murder. Something that evokes small towns, a person's darkness/sociopathy... something along those lines would be really welcome.
What to avoid
The book isn't gruesome... more of a psychological thriller. I would NOT like a dead body on the cover.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
brian5F collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected 2 winners!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
