PSHoudini is a fantastic artist. I worked second time together with him and he created outstanding results. He has shown great empathy for my work and it was a pleasure to cooperate with him. He fulfilled all my wishes perfectly. I am looking forward to work with him again next time.
PINTADO is an amazing designer.
I had many brilliant designs to choose from in my contest, but his was standing out. He not only intuitively created something I love but his design speaks a universal language which appeals to almost everybody. A perfect cover for my book. He’s a very friendly and easygoing person and at the same time professional and precise – it’s a pleasure to work with him. He implemented the changes I asked him for quickly and always understood perfectly what I would wish to see. I certainly will work with PINTADO again.

I am self published author currently finishing my debut novel
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I need a ebook and print on demand cover made for my debut novel "Escaping Tiger Island." It is a YA action/adventure/fantasy story. Here is a brief summary.
Sixteen year old Claire walks into her brother's bedroom to see him soaring past the two story window with a stranger. In shock, she runs to the window to try and pull him back in only to accomplish falling out of the window herself. The stranger catches her and takes them both to the mysterious Tiger Island. The stranger, William, is a recruiter for the fairies who are indigenous to the island. The fairies started bringing boys back to the island when a pirate ship landed there and the pirates began to destroy the island. The fairies didn't have the manpower to fight the pirates and so they began collecting boys from earth to fight them. The war is disguised by William as an adventure game and when Claire realizes what is happening she has to fight to keep her brother safe and try to find a way back home.
The setting is Tiger Island. The island has a bay where a pirate ship is half sunken. It sank stern side down so the wheel and Captain's platform are visible. The ship should be old (1700-1800's, think Pirate's of the Caribbean). The angle of the sink should not be overly severe. The island itself is covered with trees that have orange leaves and there are mountains that make grey/black stripes across the island. If you flew over it it would look like tiger stripes. The beach is short and the trees come right up to it. There are no actual tigers in the story so there should be no tigers on the cover.
The fairies are described in the book as looking like fireflies on the edge of the beach when seen from the pirate ship. One thought for a cover would be the island at dusk from the ship with fairies dotting the shoreline. Maybe having just the rail of the ship visible in the forefront of the image. I am definitely open to creativity and do not have a specific idea on font. The title should be "Escaping Tiger Island" and the author name which I would like centered at the bottom is "Amy Whalen Deger" It is important that the image be clear in a small size and that the title be easily visible. To get a better idea of the book and me you can check out authoramy.com which has an excerpt of the first chapter.
