Entertainment & The Arts
Hello Designers! I am looking for a book cover. It falls under the literary genre, but with a thriller element. My future readers are American females, ages 24 to 50 who love to leisurely read both Women’s Fiction and Romance. They are middle class, and married with kids, or planning that in their future, as they value family. These women value other women in power, as that is a source of inspiration, and love to read about survivors of all forms of abuse, who in the end, come out on top. They also love a little spice in their life, and have a great sense of humor.
What's your vision?
Here is a synopsis of "The Critic." by Jemiscoe Wren Lilton is a Pulitzer and Man Booker award-winning author, but she's also a literary critic. Wren finds herself in the worst of places with no memory on how she got there. As she attempts to catalog her day, she remembers that she set to go home after a long day at the "New Englander," locked up her office, and made it out to the parking structure, but that's where her memories get a little hazy. She does, however, recognize her kidnapper as alcoholic, once best-seller, washed-up, cop drama genre author, Brett Pirie. A couple of months ago, Wren wrote a scathing review of his new book, Tables Turned. The book was contrived, his characters flat, and his plot completely predictable. Wren's review held nothing back, resulting in Brett becoming more unhinged. He wants Wren to rewrite her review and he is not backing down. He is also not afraid to use a little bit of torture to make her decision easier. She doesn't know his end game, but figures it doesn't look good for her. But Wren's got a secret, and as she places her hands on her still flat stomach she knows wholeheartedly that escape is the only option. Except, how does one escape when your kidnapper forces you to dig your own grave with a gun at your back?
Within this short story I add a lot of elements of the weather. First, with clouds of grey, later with rain and leaves that "dance violently in a tango of gale and deluge." And later, there is an actual flood. I'm not saying you have to add weather to the book cover, but I thought to give you as many details that I can think of that can offer you more ideas. Also Wren is 5 foot 6, brunette, curvy, brown eyes, pretty, but not gorgeous.
