Crash Course History of Science
Roger Morante graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor's Degree in English/Creative Writing (1996) and from Pepperdine University with a Masters in Education (2005). Morante studied science at Cal Lutheran University and UCLA Ext. He is the author of the popular Crash Course book series which includes: Crash Course Biology, Crash Course Anatomy & Physiology, Crash Course Astronomy, Crash Course Psychology, Crash Course US History, Crash Course World History, and Crash Course Philosophy. Morante was formerly a multi-subject teacher in Los Angeles, California before his current role as a multi-subject author. He has spoken at multiple AP teacher training seminars throughout California about the benefits of both hybridized and online education after more than two decades of teaching various subjects in the field of education. Prior to his teaching career, he was formally a sports and news journalist as well as an editor for the Santa Monica Mirror Newspaper in Santa Monica, California.
This book effectively translates YouTube video sensation Hank Green's History of Science Crash Courses into guided question worksheets. Best practice has students following along with the Crash Course History of Science videos online in order to better understand the history of science with this interactive guiding question workbook. The book may also be used as a supplementary science workbook without the YouTube videos and serve as a guided question history of science course broken down lesson by lesson for use inside of online and hybridized learning settings. Crash Course History of Science: A Study Guide of Worksheets for Science is intended for use in both science and social science classes. Guided questions posed in Crash Course History of Science help students tap into level 3 and 4 DOK (Depth of Knowledge) thinking skills surrounding important events that have happened in science. Any student (and teacher) of science would find this workbook useful. Crash Course History of Science provides a quick and easy reference guided question workbook for historical events in science and more! This book can be used to improve test scores, content understanding, and essay structure when writing about topics in science and history.
Science and social science teachers of history as well as middle and high school students would typically find this workbook useful. College students who need more practice in remembering the history of science would also find this useful.
Book cover type
Please look at some of the previous Crash Course winners of other books as well as some of the random photos chosen online for inspiration. I really like the idea behind Michelangelo's Creation of Adam for the simple cover of Crash Course History of Science but with a twist as science involves the creation of technology. But please feel free to submit your own ideas but I would consider at least one with my idea. :)
What to avoid

Working with Yvanweb was a pleasure, they were responsive, open to changes and suggestions, not to mention attentive to detail. I hope to work with them again on future projects.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
