LisaBB got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Design a Creative Self-Help Book Cover for Incremental Improvements
Check out LisaBB's Book cover contest…
I am a self published author of the book, "Incremental Improvements: Change Your Life One Small Step At A Time." The target audience is individuals looking for self-help/self-improvement.
What's your vision?
The current book cover is a photo of myself on stairs. The idea was to be taking small steps to improve your life (like the title). I would like to totally redesign the cover, so that it expresses taking small steps for overall improvement in all areas of your life (financial, diet, exercise, career, etc.). The website is: www.incrementalimprovements.com. This will take you to the current book cover, and a book preview. The cover should include the book title: "Incremental Improvements: Change Your Life One Small Step At A Time" and the author's name: Mike Brodsky. The new cover art should be eye-catching, colorful, and communicate the book's message. NEW INFO: The author is a financial advisor. The book is often used as a marketing tool and given to clients and prospects. The book cover needs to be something that could be handed to clients and look professional, but we'd also like to to be somewhat fun/interesting. So, fun, but not too fun, because it needs to be somewhat professional. Think "What Color is Your Parachute." (serious, but has the fun parachute in it.) I think that "How to Win Friends and Influence People" is too boring. I hope this helps.
The size of the finished book cover will be 5.5"x8.5", but CreateSpace requires that the cover image adds 0.125" on all sides, so the final cover really needs to be 5.75"x8.75," and it also needs to be at least 300 dpi.
