Unlock / Leveraging the hidden intelligence in your leadership team
About Rob Pyne Rob studied psychology at University College London, specializing in human judgement and decision-making. In 1997, he quit his PhD to move to Australia and surf. He joined the world of advertising, rising to become Chief Strategy Officer of a global agency. After a series of leadership roles, Rob set up training firm Realizer in 2013, with a mission to help the world make better decisions. He discovered that the best way to improve decision-making is to work with leadership teams - to unlock their collective intelligence. This book is based on the latest research into leadership teams – and Rob’s insights from working with more than fifty teams and hundreds of leaders.
Eighty per cent of senior leaders say their leadership team isn’t high-performing. You’ve put a group of smart people together to help you set the direction, drive action and build the culture. But it’s not working. These high achievers don’t gel as a team. In Unlock: Leveraging the Hidden Intelligence in Your Leadership Team, business coach, psychologist and team expert Rob Pyne explores the three types of intelligence your team needs to succeed, and how to build a leadership team which is smarter than the sum of its parts. You’ll learn: How to build the foundations of a real team. How to surface the collective intelligence of your leaders. And how to turn your ideas into real-world results.
Who should read this book You are a CEO, MD or Senior Leader. This book will help you create the conditions for your leadership team to succeed. It is also aimed at leadership team members, to help you understand and influence the dynamics in your leadership team.
Book cover type
This book is about unlocking team intelligence. I want a simple cover that brings to life these concepts of 'unlocking of 'teams' and 'intelligence'. The premise of the book is that you have to get the relationships and dynamics between people working to unlock the intelligence, so I'm interested in simple visual ideas that show the relationships between people. The cover will probably tend towards simple and uncluttered with just one visual, which might be built into the word, as an example turning one of the letters into something to do with intelligence or teams or unlocking.
What to avoid
*Amendment to brief: I am not looking for any more concepts which feature a key, keyhole or padlock - seen plenty of these already thanks.* Probably not looking for real pictures on the cover, particularly not stock images of teams in boardrooms smiling and high fiving - looking for something more conceptual and simple.
