What's your vision?
I am Luis Solis, the author, and your contest designer. I seek an exceptional book cover for both an e-book and a print book. This book cover image will be the brand messenger for my upcoming book "Innovation Alchemists: What Every CEO Needs to Know to Hire the Right Chief Innovation Officer". This book conveys the essence of my research and personal experience on the subject of innovation leadership in large organizations that have sales over $500 million. The book will establish my personal brand as a high-end, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) advisor on Innovation Leadership for large enterprises. The secret message of the book is that there is a distinct and different type of Chief Innovation Officer (CINO) for each organization, depending on the maturity of the organization and the purpose of the CINO. And, further, there is a form of magic in delivering innovation results from the raw materials available at most organizations. The book (approximate length is 100-125 pages) is comprised of: 1. 18-20 essays contributed by top Innovation leaders, each sharing their view on what makes an exceptional innovation leader 2. Book chapters focusing on: • The dismal state of innovation leadership • Using various frameworks, how to hire the right type of CINO leader, every time • Discussion and development of the Chief Innovation Officer core traits, of which there are 6 • A tool kit for executives and aspiring leaders to develop the unique edge or craft of the Chief Innovation Officer The audience for the book is CEOs, executive management, innovation leaders, and aspirants to innovation executive leadership. BOOK DESIGN REQUIREMENTS The book will first be offered for purchase online as an e-book and eventually also as a print-on-demand book. The e-book will be made available for the Kindle via Amazon as well as for other formats in other online bookstores. Requirements for the size of your ebook cover art include having the ideal height/width ratio of approximately 1.6. In other words, the height should be approximately 1.6 times greater than the width. For best quality, your image should be 1563 pixels on the shortest side and 2500 pixels on the longest side. The print book will have a 5.5 x 8.5 inches trim size. There should be room left on the lower right hand side of the back cover for a barcode. We will provide text for the back cover copy but initially you can design the back cover without any text on it. The cover needs to look like a real bestseller. The finished cover should look very professional, positioned for executives with limited attention and time, and austere – less being better than more. It should look good in thumbnail size. The cover must grab your eye at the postage stamp size. The title and subtitle must be easy to read and very clear at a small size. The author name should be large and stand out and be very visible. The cover must be crisp and very sensible for a small postage stamp rendering, as well as a smaller 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch sized print book. I would like to have the book cover look very austere and clean and convey a message that says: • This is an important book to read, and • I want to know what the author says, plus • I want to spend some time with this author and advisor Luis Solis ... he's knowledgeable, practical and very smart. Please note I want a book cover that looks eye-popping at a small size, where the book title stands out strongly and where other images do not overpower the book title. Please note I have attached a few sample book covers for the book to illustrate the title and subtitle and other front cover copy. However, you should use your imagination and creativity to design something unique. Think Apple computer "clean-ness" with a punch....versus something busy, cluttered and dark. Good luck, and may you be ever so lucky to win! Luis
Think Bauhaus ... very austere, clean, something that says - this is an important read, and - I want to know what this guys says, plus - how do I spend some time with this guy Luis Solis ... he's knowledgeable, practical and very smart This chap has a fresh message...distinctive
