Sebastian Press.com is for the artist, turning typical publishing practices into ones where the artist receives the VAST majority of profit from sales. We are founded and run by big-brain, tech oriented engineers who love art, and want to promote "the little guy" through use of tech and smart marketing. This project is an Adult Coloring Book, aimed at the HIGH END market. Think middle-aged women, with lots of disposable income, who shop Macy's, Nordstroms, and think nothing of $10 at Starbucks, let along $40 for a SUPER high quality coloring book. The first edition (janefhankins.com/ sebastianpress.com) is representative of what this book will contain, and of the intended market. The paper is super-heavy #80 cover stock, suitable for watercolor, colored pencil, etc. The binding is high quality, and the cover pages are glossy, heavy stock paper. The intent is to color pages, and remove them for framing. Each page in this book, is an entirely unique, hand drawn original, by the artist. There is absolutely NO "mass produced", or "computer generated" content. Each page takes the established artist hours to complete, is completely original, witty, fun, happy (HAPPY!!). The target audience is for art lovers, and people who appreciate, and will pay for high quality products. The art itself is light-hearted, happy, effusive, whimsical and... well... super creative! The work comes from the artist's "imaginary world", that is to say, from her smart, and active imagination. Think: singing fish, and birds in high heels, dressed for a night on the town. The content is indeed adult, but entirely "PG" or "G" rated. Children, and adult with child-like aspects of personalty would be at home coloring this art. The audience is likely well educated, and appreciates original content. They likely shop high-end retail, and appreciate elegant, refined things.

Book covers, front and back. See Target Audience for details. The covers should convey upscale, elegant, whit, fun, "refined" taste. Imagine if the auto manufacture, Lexus (or Mercedes) let an extremely creative, whimsical, happy artist loose on the exterior design!! (or interior for that matter..)
Think Mercedes Benz gene-spliced with an exotic tropical fish. We want to seamlessly integrate high-tech, "sophisticated" design elements, with super-organic, creative art. The art is mostly purchased by females, as the art itself is often feminine in content. Most guys won't buy pen-drawings of fish in high heels (well, most won't...). The overall look and design is more feminine that masculine. See www.janefhankins.com for "look inside" details/ drawings of work contained in the current, published edition. This work will be for a new collection of drawings. Attached are front/ back covers from current book. The Front cover should CLEARLY NOTE that #80 , professional grade, perforated, paper is used, and that these are "new", original drawings. Book will contain 25 prints of original drawings. Front cover will be bound at the top edge with a spiral binding. Back Cover should allow space for thumbnail "examples" as shown. Back Cover should also allow space for Bar Code, Publisher Info, similar to existing back cover. Overall, max outside dimensions of covers and sheets is: 11" x 14.5". Art / designs should allow for 1/4" non-print border, on all sides. NOTE: The attached drawings are for reference for the "feel" we're looking for. Note that they are typically simple, elegant, "millennial", colorful.
