In a very remote corner of a world unknown to the reader, a man wakes up who has obviously lost his memory. With the help of an alien being (looks like a dolphin) who is present during his awakening, the man is able to reconstruct that he is on a world that belongs to a system of a total of 5 worlds that are connected to each other by interplanetary energy streams that are traveled by so-called "world ships". In the further course it comes to light that the man without memory is a member of a guardian caste, which is awakened only if danger threatens the five worlds. On each world, these guardians are assisted in their task by companions who are animals typical of the world, but with whom the guardians can communicate mentally. However, the Awakened One seems to be the only Guardian and his memory of his purpose has disappeared. A search for answers begins that takes the man and a growing/changing number of companions and newfound friends across all 5 worlds. It is revealed that the system of the 5 worlds was once a single world created by higher beings, but that a previously unexplained catastrophe caused it to break into several individual pieces, from which the 5 worlds evolved. Every single world is assigned to an element. Our story begins on the world, which is assigned to the element water. As we continue, exploring the worlds of fire, earth, air and metal, it becomes clear that there is a 6th world where the idea/essence of evil has been concentrated due to previous experiments by the higher beings. However, since the 6th part and thus the evil itself were part of the whole, this separated "fragment" follows the urge to reunite with the other fragments and this happens in the form of a huge army of nightmare creatures that set out to storm the 5 worlds. The goal of the Awakened One must now be to find out what happened to the other Guardians and how to stop the ultimate threat to the five worlds. If anything ...

It should be fitting to the actual element in the book. In this case WATER.

Starting with the first book which features the "water world" I could imagine an "alien symbol" (circle) that represents the element of water as the big centered eye-catcher of the cover. Within the element there should be the companion of the actual world. In this case it should be the alien correspondent to a dolphin here on earth (that's how it is described in the book). Mabye that's all we need. Due to the nature of water, the rest of the cover could be in different kinds of blue.

Not too much details. The language of symbols and elements should speak for itself.
