We are publishing our first fiction book. "The Awakening of Luisa Hartfeld" The book is about a high powered female late 30's hedge fund manager who after failing to get pregnant with her husband has a string of raunchy affairs and ends up splitting up with her husband and divorcing him in the last chapter. The main character Luisa is a prim and proper, well educated, well regarded woman with an excellent job
We have come up with two design concepts - both of which work around the three colour design as shown here.
POTENTIAL DESIGN CONCEPT #1
As the issues of lingerie and sex are prominent in the title we’d like our lady to be wearing suspenders and high heels and drawn from behind as seen here.
Pregnancy is an issue in the title and we like the concept of her stamping/standing on a pregnancy test, but to put it into a design concept as illustrated here: So using this image as an example, the shadow of light created by the door opening would in fact be a pregnancy test which our leading lady would then be standing on. Exemplifying the emotional issue.
Her husband could be shadowed in the doorway or there could be no doorway at all - completely up to you in terms of design.
We’d like just the suspender belt down so no views of her head to be on the front cover please.
We are musing with the idea that she has taken her bra off and it is dangling from her right hand down.
As the book centres around the themes of betrayal, love, sex, lies and secrets we are toying with the concept of having some of those buzz words on the front cover but they need to be designed into it somehow.
Space at the bottom needs to be left for a potential two line testimonial.
POTENTIAL DESIGN CONCEPT #2
The image shown here is far too a provocative stance for our lady but we do like the notion that we can show both sides of her character - one in a potential classy business suit and the other with what she’s wearing underneath it - bra, suspender belt, suspenders and heels...
