Stop Living Paycheck to Paycheck
Sam’s story is one of classic triumph. After a divorce in his mid-twenties, he was forced to give his life a look over from a whole new perspective. As he began to plan for his financial future, now alone, he started to really question where all his money was disappearing to. He soon found out that over half of it was being spent on things he didn’t actually need, like his fancy Lexus that he used only for getting stuck in traffic, or the fact that he went out for lunch and dinner literally every single day. Within one month of realizing this Sam saved close to $600 dollars, and now ten years later he has moved well past the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle and into one of true financial abundance. Sam Attributes his wealth, now in the millions, to proper money management, but he also believes that managing your money is not only about tracking how you spend - it’s also about tracking how you earn.
Earning more money is also a component of proper management. Not only must we be better with how we spend but we must also exert effort towards earning more. This book is a guide from money scarcity to financial abundance. It begins by addressing limiting beliefs within the reader and helps them to reorient their mindset around money. It then moves into a presentation of various ways one could go about earning more money and likewise demonstrates a series of budgeting and saving practices that will allow the reader to feel as though they have more money even without earning more. This book encourages a minimalist lifestyle in the sense that most people who are “broke” simply spend money in places they don't need to be spending it, but it also allows for the reader (even encourages the reader) to pursue building themselves a life of luxury. With an optimistic approach, the book highlights the reality that what separates the rich from the poor is (a) what they spend their time doing and working on and (b) whether or not they use their money to their advantage, ie) does their money generate more money or not - because it should be. It’s a book of hope and encouragement that leaves the reader with an empowered outlook and tangible realistic steps to action.
Someone is reading this book because they are sick and tired of running out of money, especially when they need it the most. This individual is constantly counting how much money they have and how it might best be spent. They are also more than likely in a state of constant stress and resultantly end up justifying spending their money on pleasure instead of saving it, simply to temporarily relieve this stress. They feel like no matter what they do they just can’t seem to get ahead. They hope this book is going to finally show them what they are doing wrong and teach them how to be better about saving money. They are not necessarily interested in getting rich, they just don't want to be broke any longer.
