Business & Consulting
My Thought Leader practice was established in 2010 to focus on helping organisations deliver capital projects more efficiently and effectively. I am passionate about engaging and motivating teams to do amazing things. As I often say, where most project management emphasis is placed on what happens in the coach’s box and on the scoreboard, I help teams play better on the field because that's where the game is won or lost. Most recently, I have expanded my practice to utilise my project expertise to improve the effectiveness of business improvement initiatives. My target market is senior executives in medium to large businesses. More specifically, businesses with the following characteristics (generally ranked in order of importance): 1. Large corporations looking to stay relevant and profitable under the pressure of a disruptive business environment, 2. medium sized companies whose fast growth might be stretching the fabric of the organisation and need a framework for managing the dynamics of their own business, 3. Asset owners who regularly utilise capital projects to generate new business value and are looking to improve the capital efficiency and overall effectiveness of those projects, and 4. Generally, any business that is looking to get greater efficacy and return on investment from their improvement and change projects. The overall goal of this book is to position my thought leadership with senior executives in major corporations to bring a project mindset to business improvement and organisational change. All too often, businesses are consumed with busyness - the day-to-day activities. To respond to the disruptive business environment that exists in the 21st century, businesses will need to increasingly turn to projects within their business to create the time and efficiency necessary to continue to be profitable. However, the project approach that I outline is a complete departure from traditional project management, this approach helps leaders unleash the power of their team to deliver value and create bandwidth for “new” in the busy world of business. My objective is to create a book that has buzz, that stimulates the thinking of the business community, and elevates my practice into playing a bigger game.
What's your vision?
Book title: PROJECTIFY - Unleash the Power of Possibility within your People using Projects The only other copy that I intend to initially include on cover is the author's name (me): Jeff Schwisow All going well, at a later date I'll need to find a location for "New York Times bestseller" The cover dimensions that I'm looking for are: 6 x 9 in (15 x 23 cm) The design should be clean, contemporary and grab the viewer. Graphics/illustrations should be relatively simple and convey the overall sense of people power and complement a primarily typographically driven design. Probably not looking for a design that is heavy on photography or cartoons.
Benchmark examples of covers that are in the vain of what I'm looking for include the following books: • "Tribes" by Seth Godin • "Drive" by Daniel Pink • "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek • "Blink" and "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell
