This contest is for a science fiction book cover, for an ebook publication, conforming to Amazon standard size, etc. The book is entitled "Fractured Symmetry"; there is a long subtitle, "Blair MacAlister & Terendurr the Black Stone". The author name is "Fernando Salazar".
The concept for the cover is one of the main characters, Blair, wearing an iconic "fur bikini", though the bottom is more skirt-like. The setting is outdoors near a forest, and nighttime. Blair has a raygun in her hand as she moves in a half-crouch. The forest is in the background and in the forest is a dark creature, large and lurking in the shadows. The creature is like a large ape, though with more dog-like features; it can move on 2 or 4 legs equally well. But we don't see much detail and we can't tell if the creature is good or bad but it is definitely menacing. Possibly we see moon and stars overhead.
I'm aiming for a retro look in this cover, something reminiscent of Andre Norton covers of the 60s/70s, or the work of Frank Frazetta. Some Google links:
