USA Today Bestseller Jack the Ripper Trilogy

The Business of Blood. (Book 2 is A Treacherous Trade) (Book 3 is A Vocation of Violence)
Kerrigan Byrne is the USA Today Bestselling and award winning author of several novels in both the romance and mystery genre. She lives on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. When she's not writing and researching, you'll find her on the beach, kayaking, or on land eating, drinking, shopping, and attending live comedy, ballet, or too many movies.
Note: I will need to hire artist for trilogy! Despite the dark concept of Jack the Ripper, this book is about a fashionable amateur sleuth in the Late-victorian London. She cleans up after crime scenes for clients who are on both sides of the law, and solves murders, all the while searching for Jack. There are romantic elements in the book, but it's not a romance series. It fits in a very specific genre of historical mystery series as I've outlined below, and I'm looking for a cover that fits into that genre smoothly. Blurb copy below: London, 1890. Blood and death are Fiona Mahoney’s trade, and business, as they say, is booming. Dying is the only thing people do with any regularity, and Fiona makes her indecorous living cleaning up after the corpses are carted away. Her childhood best friend, Mary, was the last known victim of Jack the Ripper. It’s been two years since Fiona scrubbed Mary’s blood from the floorboards, and London is no longer buzzing about the Ripper, but Fiona hasn’t forgotten. And she hasn’t stopped searching for Jack. When she’s called to a murder in the middle of the night, Fiona finds a victim mutilated in an eerily similar fashion to those of the Ripper, and only a few doors down from Mary’s old home. The relentless, overbearing, and irritatingly handsome Inspector Grayson Croft warns her away from the case. She might have listened, if she hadn’t found a clue in the blood. A clue that will lead her down a path from which there is no return. As a killer cuts a devastating swath through London, a letter written in blood arrives at her door, and it is only then that Fiona realizes just how perilous her endeavor is. For she has drawn the attention of an obsessive evil, and is no longer the hunter, but the prey. Fiona Mahoney is in the business of blood. But she’s not the only one...
Fans of Sherry Thomas, Heather Redmond, Andrea Penrose, Tasha Alexander, Deanna Raybourn, and Victoria Thompson. Please look closely at their covers. Fans of historical mysteries with strong female leads and hard-boiled plots. Probably largely women between 18-80 in the US and UK
Other color requirements
None. I do love darkness contrasted with bold, sumptuous gem tones. Peacock colors maybe. Not a great deal in the way of pastels. But I'm also open to whatever your artistic eye comes up with!
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Writerainge collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
MaryDes and company was not only quick, professional, and endlessly skilled. But they were also open to all suggestion, honest with their opinion and feedback, and very flexible and patient. I can't imagine using anyone else for my books from now on. She has a rare talent and was able to visualize EXACTLY what I wanted. I've never found that before. So thank you!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
