The appearance of a dead woman in a farmer’s field marks the beginning of a paradox that pits a sleepy mountain town against the desires of dreamers.

As reality begins to implode, Sergeant Mitchell Davis is forced to redefine what it means to be a cop in a small town. Hunted by a shape-changing creature known as the Doppelganger, Mitchell must manage his own fear while investigating a bizarre rash of kidnappings. Mitchell ultimately realizes that he will only save the town of Revelstoke if he adjusts his notion of law enforcement to accommodate the changing reality.

About The Author
Don Lewsey has been an avid reader from his earliest years. Stories that revealed strange and different worlds were appealing. He was further inspired to pursue writing after seeing “In The Mouth of Madness,” a movie about an author’s story that created a reality of its own. One question percolated in the back of Lewsey’s mind: was it really possible to write a story that could create different possibilities for the reader’s life? Words, and ideas, are magical and have the power to create completely unpredictable changes.
His focus has usually been the search for potential and possibility. Not only should a story be fun, it should also feature elements that inspire the reader to greater heights. Ever the dreamer, Lewsey hopes that one day his writing will be the catalyst that forever changes reality.

Synopsis:
Sergeant Mitchell Davis’s day seemed to start like most others. The morning was bright, the coffee was strong, and there were friendly greetings from departing tourists. The normal hum-drum of daily life ends when Mitchell crosses paths with a cryptic, old man and is pitted against the influences of an enigmatic Traveler.

A woman’s body is discovered on the outskirts of town. There are no indications of any trauma or cause of death to the casual investigation. She has no I.D. and her clothing seems to defy the laws of nature. The outward appearance of the body isn’t nearly as bizarre as the results of the autopsy. All of her internal organs have been reorganized, yet there are no signs of surgery.

At fifteen years old Shine McAllister is a lonely outsider with a massive chip on his shoulder. This is the year he’s going to redefine himself with the help of a mysterious new talent. He can do anything he dreams: set alight a pair of running shoes with a thought, create lifelike sketches that allow him to observe others, or imprison a girl in his dream world. The burgeoning talent isn’t consistent, and he doesn’t care how it came to be. He’ll do anything to stop the bullying and earn the respect of his peers.

Sarah can’t sleep. Every time she closes her eyes she is haunted by Connor O’Rielly. She is so exhausted that she no longer recognizes herself. Her self-reliance is waning, and her son, Matty, is turning against her in favour of Connor. If she had her dad’s inheritance she would happily hand it over to end this waking nightmare. Failing that, death would be perfectly acceptable.

Connor O’Rielly’s skill at deception has now been bolstered by his intuition. Since he isn’t legally entitled to Sarah’s money, he will get it through other means. After he intimidates Sarah into giving him some of the cash she’s already received, he knows he can get everything he wants. And when it appears that her ex-husband may re-enter the picture, Connor is more than happy to use his influence to destroy the cop’s career and maybe even his life.

Amid the mayhem of collapsing reality, the Traveler will use sleepwalkers to steal the body of Jane Doe and summon a creature known as the Doppelganger to attack the police. The Traveller is willing to influence and destroy the entire town of Revelstoke in an effort to control the forces that now dominate everyone.
