Slimjim was great to work with. He was responsive to the changes we requested and delivered a logo that we like very much.
How ArtAnywhere started their custom wordpress themes journey
We're a tiny start up based in Montreal (Quebec) with a big dream to crack open the art market worldwide and give artists a viable way to show and sell their original art work directly to non-traditional art buyers. How we do it is by giving businesses a chance to install free art supplied by local artists in their workspace - any set of empty walls will do - converting their offices into pop-up art galleries. A business orders a popup gallery (much like this very process of submitting a design brief) and artists respond by submitting their works for review. The client (the business) does not pay for the gallery - only works they buy, on which ArtAnywhere takes a 25% commission. Artists gain access to new markets, businesses get introduced to emerging artists in their own communities and the traditional, elitist and exclusive art gallery process is completely sidestepped. Our aim is to put art to work by giving artists in every neighbourhood in the world a chance to submit their art to businesses in their communities looking to fill their office with original art works. We already have a few galleries up (check our blog for more detail: http://blog.artanywhere.com/blog/). This project has incredible potential and ultimately is about helping creative people make a decent living being creators. Your design is key to making that happen.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audiences are (% indicating importance):
-70% businesses - business owners, presidents of companies, CEOs, CFOs, and the office managers and administrators to whom business owners and leaders ask to take care of decorating their office spaces.
-30% artists (in any medium though the majority tend to be painters, photographers, and sculptors) who need to see that our concept of putting up popup art galleries in business spaces works for them (i.e. generates sales revenues for them directly)
1. Home page: tells our story and has a few key calls to action such that
-A business person will know what a PopUp! Art Gallery is and have a big button to click to order one for their business (The linked form requires company name, website, address & contact person, description of available space, kind of art they want (i.e. a specific theme, colour palette, sizes, medium, etc)
-Artists see the value of what a PopUp! Art Gallery brings to them (new potential clients!) and can sign up to be added to our mailing list to get direct mails on calls for art submissions in their neighbourhoods/cities
-Both audiences (businesses & artists) see current active galleries. We envision a table of active galleries (client name, company logo, link to company site) that a visitor to our site can click on and be led to that company's PopUp! Gallery page which shows the installed art gallery on one side of the screen, and the actual works for sale on the other with a BUY button on each image.
2. Sub-pages: (a) active PopUp galleries - this page will be used to promote the benefits of having a gallery in your business and to carry copy and other promotional messages to encourage the host businesses and their employees to buy the art they are currently trying out in their offices; (b) customizable templates we can use for open Calls-for-Submissions from artists; (c) How It Works page
