What's your vision?
Accepted File Formats: .fla .xml Overview of Brief: The task here is to design and produce a Flash header with navigation for the website of an engineering company. Navigation links are: Home, Company, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Jobs, Contact, Find Us, News The Flash header should use the current company globe logo; we want this to be animated in some form of spinning format. Download the logo in .PSD format here: http://www.onlineworx.net/testing/quality-response/logo.psd The navigation links also need to be animated in a rollover format. Background Information on the task: The engineering company is Quality Response Ltd. Their current website is http://www.qualityresponse.co.uk/professional.htm Quality Response provides contract quality control and inspection services for industry, predominantly on production lines, a large proportion of which are in the motor industry. Original Initial Brief for the whole site: The new site will not have the splash page that the current site has (http://www.qualityresponse.co.uk/) but will have a header and content layout. They want to retain the purple colour as that is QR branding, but be more restrained. They want the site to tie in with their current brochure. This can be found here: http://www.onlineworx.net/testing/QR_brochure/ Strap lines that may be used home page are listed at the bottom of this document. These arent to be used in the header but are to give a feel for the character of the site. Attitude to competitors websites, for design guidance http://www.tamworth-quality-services.com/ Dont like this at all, too wordy and bad design. http://www.aktrion.com/portal.aspx? Dont like this, image has no relation, amateurish http://www.autoscanqa.co.uk/ Like this, easy to navigate, reasonably concise. Not that keen on graphic image, dowdy, old fashioned. Strap lines: Putting control back into quality Quality personnel who know your business Our commitment, your quality Supporting your quality control team The complete quality control team Your personal quality control team Your emergency quality control support team The fast response quality control people Ensuring quality control at the sharp end History of Design Work so far We have already produced multiple draft designs for this job, initially full home page designs, latterly header designs, as the whole site look and feel will be based around the site header. All the draft designs can be found here along with imagery they have chosen: http://www.onlineworx.net/testing/quality-response/ So far none of these designs have hit the spot. Final Brief: The header design must: Retain the purple colour as that is QR branding, but be more restrained. Use the globe logo, with some form of spin. Tie in with their current brochure. This can be found here: http://www.onlineworx.net/testing/QR_brochure/ The design must communicate professionalism, precision, care, quality, team work. If you want to incorporate images: Preview Images can be used from www.istockphoto.com Dont use images using hard hats (arent used in their industry sectors), engineering images of environments that are greasy/dirty or too laboratory looking. Work images featuring clean professional engineering environments, production line environments, teams, office environment (with engineering overtones) are good. They are more engineering than white coat. The current brochure images are a good guide, but as contemporary as possible (TFT rather than VDU screens for instance).
