Entertainment & The Arts
I am a performing artist for hire. I set up shop in peoples' houses and business environments and cook them pancake art, on request.
What's your vision?
My website has recently gone through a significant overhaul, and I'd like a set of icons that somewhat match the style/aesthetic of my main logo. My regular graphic designer is ultra busy at the moment, and with a deadline on January 15th, he suggested that I give 99designs a try. I need icons/buttons for navigation on my website, Dancakes.com. Each icon leads to a specific page on the site; Booking (how you can hire me), About (my biography page), Request (a page where you can paypal me $5 to cook you a dancake and send you a picture), Praise (for press accolades), Feed (a link to my instagram feed so you can see what I've been up to lately), and Store. The icons can be whatever you want them to be, but I'd like them to aesthetically capture something about their destination. So, the 'About' page could be a question mark, or something less obvious, so long as people can look at the image and get the gist. Ultimately I'd like some icons that are stark and easily discerned that at least hint at the design of the main brand logo. If you've got a really wild idea, based on the attached site screenshots, go nuts. I'm pretty flexible, I like to think, and as long as the end result is clean and professional looking I'm open to creativity. Most of the design work I've been happiest with has come after I stopped making demands.
You can probably tell from the attached images that I'm kind of a video game nerd. If you can work some old school final fantasy whimsy into anything you send me, I'll be biased towards that, but it's certainly not a requirement.

Dexter was by far the best designer that I've worked with on this platform. He read the brief carefully and understood exactly what we were trying to accomplish. Throughout the process, he remained flexible with providing alternatives and making revisions. Thank you :)
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
