sci.comm got their new illustration or graphics by running a design contest:
Captivating artwork/illustration needed inspired by scientific discovery/neuroscience
Check out sci.comm's Illustration or graphics contest…
We're a neuroscience research institute, part of the Max Planck Society, one of the world's most successful research organizations. Our audience includes scientists, as well as potential students/supporters.
What's your vision?
An illustration/artwork inspired by one of our scientific images - we'd like to add it to our current collection of Neuroscience Art that can go on canvas as artwork in our institute, postcards, etc. The illustration should be inspired by the attached image. The important aspect of the image is the scientists were able to develop a technique that allowed them to tag one specific neuron (green) out of many (purple ones). This picture shows the tagging ability perfectly, and we also thought it was beautiful. We're looking for an artistic depiction inspired by this image. Creativity welcome.
The illustration should not have our name anywhere on it - all we'd like is a piece of artwork inspired by the discovery and we'll take care of branding ourselves :)
