Bluestockings Cooperative is a worker-owned community space and bookstore based in the Lower East Side of New York City, guided by the principles of abolition feminism, solidarity, and transformative justice practices. We are currently led by a group of four queer and trans/gnc (Gender Non conforming) people, five folks of color, three disabled and three mad people, three sex workers, survivors of sexual violence and a small number of co-conspirators. We channel our community knowledge and values to inform how we move through this work together. Bluestockings seeks to empower all people to challenge oppression and participate in creating a society which is equitable, cooperative, and free by: - Distributing literature and resources about oppression, intersectionality, community organizing, and activism, and by sharing the stories of marginalized people - Maintaining a space in New York City for dialogue, education, and reflection where all people are respected; and - Building connections, knowledge, and skills in our communities Industry: Bookstore retail/ worker owned community
What's your vision?
Something inspired by the history of protest signs and banners and the Bluestockings bench logo, while incorporating the Bluestockings Cooperative text logo. We will be printing this illustration on tote bags (natural beige color) and maybe shirts in the the future. Limit text logo to these colors: #79cfe5, #f3f1f0, and #2b2c2b
