Custom Orchestral Icons for Logic Pro X

I am a trained orchestral composer and I'm looking to make one of my primary tools (Logic Pro X) easier for me to use.
What's your vision?
I would like an icon system and collection of icons for all of the instruments in my virtual orchestra. I'm looking for something that makes each instrument instantly identifiable by the icon. Currently, Logic Pro X's orchestral icons are ugly, hard to discern, and incomplete. I need something far, far better. What I need is an icon system that allows me to: 1. quickly identify the instrument, 2. determine whether it is a soloist or not 3. know if it is a sub-part of an ensemble (e.g. Violin 2-1 - second violins, first chair) 4. identify if it is representing multiple instruments (like the "violin section") My gut is telling me that the icons need to be silhouettes that zoom in on an iconic, identifiable portion of the instrument. Icons that try, for example, to show an entire wind instrument are hard to tell apart (is that a clarinet or an oboe?). This kind of thing is in the ballpark, I think. But - we certainly could go even more stylized. (http://www.istockphoto.com/vector/musical-instrument-icons-gm164395967-14721827) I'd like to see a few different examples of different instruments and how you would handle the system. The awarded designer will then be expected to complete the whole set - in a separate project. Please let me know your "bid" for the completion of the icon set in a PM and I will evaluate this along with your designs. Here is the FULL list for the winner of the contest: Woodwinds Piccolo Flute Alto Flute Bass Flute Oboe Oboe d'Amore English Horn Heckelphone Clarinet Bass Clarinet Contrabass Clarinet Basset Horn Bassoon Contra Basoon Pennywhistle Soprano Recorder Alto Recorder Tenor Recorder Bass Recorder Soprano Saxophone Alto Saxophone Tenor Saxophone Bass Saxophone Brass Piccolo Trumpet Trumpet Bass Trumpet Cornet Flugelhorn French Horn Alto Trombone Tenor Trombone Bass Trombone Contrabass Trombone Baritone / Euphonium Tuba Contrabass Tuba Wagner Tuba Cimbasso Percussion Timpani Snare Drum Bass Drum Cymbals Gongs Toms Celesta Glockenspeil Xylophone Vibraphone Marimba Temple Blocks Wood Blocks Lithophone Tubular Bells Church Bells Handbells Triangle Shaker Thunder Sheet Triangle Shaker Taiko Frame Drum Keyboards + Misc Grand Piano Upright Piano Prepared Piano Harmonium Harpsichord Organ Organ Pedals Bandoneon Harp Classical Guitar Lute Rhodes Clavinet Synthesizer Voices Soprano Alto Tenor Baritone Bass Strings Violin Viola Cello Bases

Paul Louis did a great job. He managed to deliver on time and on quality. He was easy to communicate with and it was a pleasure to discover the results of his work every morning with the TZ difference.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
