My developers have put together a dev version of my site here at https://speedfreaky.com/dev/mbp-static/#
The devs have just done some very basic work on the menu header and footer functionality, using ideas from two sites I told them I really like: helpscout.com and unbounce.com.
I need someone with your skills to give me some ideas as to the general styling of the site by designing a new homepage for me. I will then apply this style to the remainder of the site with the devs help.
I need to keep some form of Montserrat as a title font, but I'm completely open to a whole new style, including body font. I like avenir, lato, and lora as possiblities, but open to more so please provide examples of fonts you think will work.
As for colour palette, blue is rather important as it's in our name and we have established a dark blue 0F69C9, light blue 3FC4FF and (more optional) yellow F9C732 throughout other content on social media and the course itself, so perhaps best to try and include at least elements of these. The light blue 3FC4FF is my favourite.
One of our biggest weaknesses at the moment as an online company is that our product is rather complex and 100% brand new as a concept. It is undoubtedly the best Mandarin course that exists right now (we even have patent-pending status on our methodology) but utilizes advanced memory techniques and digital flashcards, as well as covering the entire Chinese language, as opposed to just a part of it, like most of our competitors, which can get confusing for new users. These aspects are hard to communicate quickly in the site's current form. Therefore, I would really appreciate diagrams, illustrations or other visuals that could help to highlight the features and benefits. The main features benefits are on the homepage but we have a big list to share with you. It might be a good idea to get on a call and talk about this, as well as grant you access to the course platform before you really get into this area.
Finally, as well as designing the homepage I would also love to hear other ideas you might have that you think could improve the site in terms of looks, functionality or general user experience. I am open to extending this job or starting others if these additions are agreed upon.
