The contest holder will be donating the winning design to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) for their project, Apache Shiro (http://incubator.apache.org/shiro). The ASF is not sponsoring or in any way affiliated with the contest.
Apache Shiro is a project under Apache’s Incubator program. Apache Shiro is a security framework to help software developers build secure applications quickly and easily.
Some common themes that might be appropriate: guard, armor, shield, defense, rampart, lock & key, castle ('shiro' means 'castle' in Japanese, but it is not required to have a literal translation in the logo). The goal is to have a logo that represents 'security', 'protection', 'safety' and similar themes. Have fun! :)
The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is a non-profit organization that works with volunteers to collaboratively develop free open source software, including the widely-used Apache Tomcat server project. For the last ten years, Apache has been a major revolutionary force in the software industry. To learn more about the ASF, visit http://www.apache.org
