CyclingPulse.com for website
Cycling Pulse Ltd is a website created to list, by event type, UK-wide cycling events to the cycling community. The site will offer a complete listing of all cycling events in the UK, provide services for individual cyclists to view, choose and register for events, as well as post their results and manage their event calendar.
The site will also allow for Event Organizers to register, list, and promote their events. News, RSS feeds, Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites will be used to allow cyclists to find events and share these rides and events with their friends.
The site will also be appealing to Bike Clubs who wish to host their club site within Cycling Pulse, use Cycling Pulse's registration and event engine to manage their subscriptions and event registration and hold their results.
Cycling Pulse also sells an Electronic Timing and Security Tag called Pulse. Pulse will feature in all Cycling Pulse promotional and marketing materials and will be sold to individual cyclists and event organizers alike. Cycling Pulse and Pulse names need to work together as brands individually and together. A separate in-store and mail-out artwork and materials will be generated for Pulse. Therefore, it is important that any graphics in Cycling Pulse utilize the same or similar graphics of Pulse.
Cycling Pulse is a site that lists competitive and non-competitive cycling events in the UK and geared for the avid bike club cyclist, whether he is a time triallist, track rider, road racer, sportive rider, charity ride participant or organized bike tour cyclist. What is a sportive? Many cyclosportive events attract a wide range of riders, from dedicated racing cyclists to leisure cyclists wanting a challenging ride, allows them to test themselves over a race-proven route.
It is also for cyclists that are new to cycling, such as beginners who wish to become better cyclists, enter the world of more competitive cycling or go on sponsored bike tours or charitable event rides. It is not really geared for the family or leisure cyclist who rides a bike once a month.
Cyclists can register online for thousands of events, record their results and create a calendar for events they wish to participate in. They can also purchase their Electronic Racing Tag, which is used in Electronic Timed Events. The tag is called Pulse.
It is also for Event Organisers to list and manage their event, promote their event, purchase event insurance and use other Cycling Pulse services.
The site will hold RSS feeds of events, provide news in the cycling community, calendars for cyclists to plan as well as a My CyclingPulse section where cyclists can plug in their results, training results etc.
Tagline: The Heart of Cycling
Designs can be typeface only, logotype with graphic treatment or a mix of logo and type in a creative manner. The brand needs to be bold, colourful, with strong, simple graphics that can work on all media, print, web, clothing and stickers. Variations on the design of the name Cycling Pulse would be welcome where the Pulse in Cycling Pulse could be the same as Pulse, the Electronic tag.
It is best not to use graphics of specific bicycles, such as mountain bikes or road bikes as this does not fully represent what Cycling Pulse offers to its membership. Also, please stay away from any "heart" symbology like heartrate monitor graphics etc. Think rather about the pulse of the tag and community. Other cycling images or symbols are welcome as well as more creative graphic solutions that adhere to the brief and requirements.
