Mainstream is a leading provider of delivery and display solutions for multimedia companies worldwide. We provide content delivery services, custom software development, video transcoding and delivery platforms, and mobile applications development for many of the world's best known information companies including Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, and Technicolor Digital Cinema.
For Technicolor, we deliver Hollywood films to digital theaters in North America. We also provide video platforms to entertainment video agencies who supply content to VH1, MTV, E! Channel, TMZ, NBC, and others.
We have always been on the cutting edge of technology, but our logo no longer represents this fact. Our logo looks like it was created on a dot matrix printer, and it needs to be updated to better represent our company.
The logo needs to be recognizable, as it is well known in the industry, however, we want it to look new, fresh, and representative of a multimedia technology company.
We are just trying to update our logo to bring it into the 21st century. Because we work with many photo and video agencies with a lot of creative and design oriented people, we feel a little self conscious about our logo. We want people who see our logo to get the sense that we are creative like our customers, and we are on the cutting edge of technology.
Mainstream's 'Flying M' is very recognizable in the industry, and our CEO has given me instructions to make sure the logo is still recognizable after the redesign. So, we need to update the logo, but maintain enough key elements to keep it recognizable. However, we want to really spice it up.
At the end of the project, we will need the logo in the file formats required for web use and printed materials. We will want a vector format of the file and an Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop file, so we can create everything we may need in the future.
