The Literacy Council offers One-on-One tutoring to adults who want to read better or want to improve their ability to read, write, and speak in English. Our trained community volunteers provide the free tutoring. Each student in our program works one-on-one with their tutor on the individual goals that student has set.
The adult students in our program want to gain the literacy skills and English skills they need to get a better job, to help their children with homework, to continue their education, or to be more involved in community life. The skills they get will help them succeed in everyday life and in the workforce.
Tutoring times and locations are flexible, to make our program accessible to all.
We are a non-profit organization serving Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Our target audience is primarily prospective adult learners, but also prospective volunteer tutors and, to a lesser extent, prospective donors/supporters.
