Designers can learn more about us and our firm by visiting our website, http://www.jmplawfirm.com. Additionally, we have adopted a tagline (which we don't necessarily want incoporated into the logo, but which will appear alongside the logo in print materials: "Persistent. Persuasive. Professional." While we would like a color version of the logo, we would like a logo that looks good in black and white as well, so that it can be included on our letterhead without having to print the first page of every letter we send out in color to make it look good.
EDIT: The submissions over the first two days have overwhelmingly been limited to Wordmarks using generic fonts, with most graphical elements consisting of some combination of P, L, and F. To clarify, we certainly want the firm name to be a part of the logo, just not the whole affair - I would like there to be a separate, distinctive visual component. To the extent that you would like to use letters or initials to supply that component, it would be advisable to make them as distinctive as possible, rather than using the same generic font that appears in the rest of the logo.
Also worth noting - there are dozens of legal practices in the Atlanta market alone that operate under the name "The [Insert Surname] Law Firm" - the distinguishing or identifying word in this sort of tradename is obviously the surname. Would like to see some designs that play off of the name "Poe"
