I think a "hipster logo" might work well for this, something classic/timeless looking. The key thing is the emblem should be of a V-Twin engine or pistons in a V-configuration. I'm fine with an "Est. 2014" as part of the logo, and either a circular or maybe hexagonal outline (perhaps the piston heads line up with two of the edges of the hex). 99Designs did the logo for http://www.syncbuildrun.com/ for me, and this would be a subsidiary organization, so a bit of contrast with that is fine so that there are separate identities between the two organizations. One specific thing NOT to do is to make the engine too "Harley-esque": no skulls, or "rough biker" look, please. Technical looking is fine. I like these ( http://image.shutterstock.com/displ…340072.jpg, http://www.sa750.net/vtwin/dualb.jpg), but really DO NOT like these ( http://image.shutterstock.com/displ…258346.jpg , http://d3d71ba2asa5oz.cloudfront.ne…lt-313.jpg ). As for font choices, Futura Bold, or some other sans serif for "V-Twin Media" is fine, maybe something contrasting for "est..." As long as I get the font names afterwards, it's fine.
