Please note, we are looking for something unique and highly visual in our new logo, something that will well reflect the core messaging that we've taken a lot of time to develop. A new logo that is creative and highly visual (so more than just geometric shapes + text) are more likely to suit our needs.
Some we are NOT looking for in a logo:
-a round purple circle with YES inside
-we would like entries which are do NOT turn the Y in YES into a person as we have many of these already - we would like some creative entries!
-a logo which is too geometric/angular
-a logo that does not contain any visual elements that make us think of the messaging outlined below...in other words, we don't want to have a logo that is just "YES" written in unique font in purple...
-typography which does not reflect the messaging
The YES is a yearly event, each year having a different theme. Read more about the YES: at http://www.eee-yfu.org/young-europe…minar-yes/
Until now, the logo is different each year, designed by volunteers. This year, we want to develop 1 logo (and consistent brand identity) that can be used each year to enhance visibility of the YES. This means that the logo should:
1) have room to put the year
2) have room to put a different "title" or "slogan"
all the while - the logo should remain the same each year. This is because each year the YES has a different theme (e.g. 2016 is "Young Innovators: Changing Our World; 2015 was "Human Rights in a Digitalized World".
The logo should fit and be essentially in line with the new YFU Brand (the brand guidelines are enclosed), but we also look for creativity and thinking outside the box :)
Below, you will find further information about the new brand identity of the YES. The full document is enclosed as an attachment.
PURPOSE AND MISSION OF THE YES
The mission of the Young Europeans’ Seminar is to contribute the development of young global citizens through learning and volunteering together in a spirit of international friendship.
UNIQUE ELEMENTS & CORE MESSAGING
The Young Europeans’ Seminar (YES) is a yearly massive intercultural get-together for over 500 European exchange students at the end of their school year, all put together by a team of over 100 YFU volunteers. The YES is a unique opportunity to reunite with old friends from all over Europe and make new ones, creating a bridge between the exchange year and the return home. It’s a fun learning experience where students explore what it means to be a citizen of the world through diverse interactive learning activities.
