How Trevor Burnham started their logo design journey
We're a small startup run by three recent grad students dedicated to rethinking data analysis from the ground up. We want to make it easy for teams of researchers to work together from across the world, through a simple, graphical, web-based interface.
Our name reflects the intertwining of data as scientists share their work, run computations, and publish their results, all on one site.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our initial offering is aimed at academic researchers, especially social scientists, like economists and psychologists. We want to appeal to both technologically hip students, who want an easier way to do their stats homework, and older professors looking to move their work from their desktop to the cloud.
In short, we want our logo to be both playful and professional.
Technical requirements: We must be able to modify your design. That is, you must provide us with the original Photoshop or Illustrator file (or other standard vector format). Also, all fonts used must be commercially available.
Design-wise, the logo must work on a white background, whether on a business card or a site header. Beyond that, feel free to experiment. We're open to all kinds of ideas!
