Logo types to explore
This is the second logo contest we have run for Dave's Dots. We got a lot of great entries last time but none that quite worked for us. So we decided in the interest of good will to declare a winner and start again. Here are some ideas that we missed out on last time: 1. Dots are information and they are everywhere and sort of random. The logos in our contest were too "organized." 2. Once you "collect the dots" you need to connect them so that all the information you have collected works for you. We might want to try to do some connecting of dots without having them look like chemistry models. 3. Since these topics are selected and written by Dave, maybe the idea of hand-drawn dots and connections works. 4. Collecting dots could happen the same way one might collect and capture butterflies or raindrops... just a thought. See if any of these ideas inspire you. And, please check out the first contest to see comments on specific approaches. Remember: Dave's Dots is its own universe, but it is linked to corporate site of its creator http://www.bmgi.com. David is CEO of BMGi, so Dave's Dots must look like it came from the same planet. The name Dave's Dots comes from the title of one of his books and refers to the concept of collecting information (each dot is a bit of knowledge or info). This logo will also eventually be animated for an online TV show Dave will be doing -- so simple is best. I'm pretty sure we will need to use the idea of "dots" in some way. But no polka dots please and nothing too "cute." David is a thought leader and this logo should reflect that. Both David and I will be weighing in on your designs. Thanks in advance. I have attached some relevant images below.
