I'd prefer to stay away from the most obvious symbols -- crosses, scales, lady justice, flags, etc. While the website will be marketed as a resource for Christian houses of worship most directly (and in this area, that means protestant churches), we work with clients of other faiths, and interface with judges and government officials. It seems like maybe the curves of an icthus (Christian fish) and a Section symbol § (a double s; often used in legal writing), might provide a modern, subtle connection between law & religion -- but we can't get that concept right in house, and are open to other concepts.
