Design a logo for a new digital navigation product company

Logi-Map is a new Australian company that provides digital navigation solutions targeting Military, Law Enforcement and other Government Departments. Our key focus is on providing desktop systems that go hand in hand with portable PC's such as tablet PC's and Panasonic Toughbooks etc.

Main -Black, Grey, Blue . Possibly vivid burgundy or orange

Desired Style:
Slick, professional, smart, happy and simple. You can separate the words if you like, but consider using the hyphen as it's part of the URL. We like the idea of having a globe (earth)or map theme somewhere in the logo and would prefer any representation

Our software is unique in that it operates on any windows machine, is touch screen based and simple(logical)to use. Software-wise it is 'lightweight' and not memory or processor intensive. In a nutshell it is designed in helping the user to navigate from point to point using simple search criteria such as suburbs, street names and numbers, latitude & longitude, grid references, places names etc.

The software was developed for use in law enforcement helicopters but the company is also targeting military helicopter and vehicle use, as well as entities such as Police SWAT, Search and Rescue units, Ambulances, Fire Fighters, National Parks (Rangers), State Forrest workers etc. Once the logo is done a website will be developed with a matching theme. We are yet to decide the layout though.

The logo will end up be used on business cards, shirts, letterheads and stickers - as well as the opening screen when the software boots up. I have had a quick look at this sites other contests and like the recent work of
