mitchelle.gegwetch got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design a logo for Our Feather Clothing Company
Check out mitchelle.gegwetch's Logo design contest…
Our Feather Clothing Company is not just another apparel brand, its a movement to make the world a better place, one product at a time. Our mission through commerce (Sale of clothing and other branded household products), is to creatively inspire crowd funded contribution to projects and organizations that protect and uplift the marginalized and underrepresented Indigenous people of the world. We embody Indigenous world views through our quadruple bottom line approach; ensuring that our Social Impact, Community benefit, Environmental footprint and Sustainable profit are all in balance. OFCC Is a (First Nations-Canadian) Indigenous founded brand, and the logo needs to portray that. The logo should be high quality, and needs to be able adaptive, meaning it can be used on a website, or other branding, but also striped of any text and just a stand alone "Feather" icon that is distinctive enough to identify the brand without the name attached. Please feel free to try a few different arrangements and styles and you can even de-emphasize the 'Clothing Company' part of the name as it is not as significant as 'Our Feather', and don't just stick to a simple feather, and text underneath it. Get creative!
The logo needs to focus on a feather, and that feather should be distinct enough to be detached from the logo and used on clothing or products and be easily identifiable. The logo also needs to embody Indigenous art styles. (Thick bold lines and curves, high contrast colour, and a black bold outline. ) Please see examples for inspiration. I really like how the feathers from one of the examples I uploaded. But stick to one feather in the logo please, not double.
