Trevor Burnham got their new logo design by running a design contest:

We're a web startup doing data visualization. We're looking for a logo with a butterfly.
Logo types to explore
I'm looking specifically for a logo with a butterfly. (The name "Doptera" is derived from the scientific classification "Lepidoptera," which all butterflies belong to.) A Google Image search might give you some ideas: http://www.google.com/search?q=butterfly&tbm=isch It's very important that it be distinct from the Microsoft MSN butterfly: http://www.google.com/search?q=microsoft+butterfly&tbm=isch I can handle the typography myself, so don't worry too much about that. What I want to see are some awesome, original butterflies. The butterfly should be symmetrical. The final work must be provided in an editable vector format (e.g. Illustrator).
