I am an exercise specialist with a background in psychology and a sincere interest in childhood obesity prevention. I love working with kids and helping people discover how to live healthier active lifestyles. This website will help me to get more involved and reach more people. Serving as a resource for kids and parents this website describes my 5 step approach to childhood obesity prevention and offers support for parents and kids.

The 5 Step Process to Changing Kids’ Lives
The High 5 process looks at the child as a whole and is a comprehensive health centered approach versus a weight centered approach. Through support from parents, friends, teachers etc, and the help of a team of professionals any child can succeed and start building toward a healthier way of living once the begin following the 5 steps.
High 5 Healthy Kids is not only about surrounding yourself with a team of positive support and following a stepwise approach to prevent childhood obesity but it is also a call to action. Support is essential for kids, a simple 'high 5' or pat on the back can go a long way. (This is why the High 5 part definitely needs to be on the logo)
Overweight and Obese Kids ages 5 - 18 (and their parents)
- Bright 'kid friendly' colors. Be creative. Experiment with bright colors, bold colors, primary colors etc.
- Gender neutral
- Not too cartoonish.
- Work in a high five
- No scales or measuring tape
- Positive & upbeat feel.
