This is totally new, with no real pre-conceptions whatsoever, open to all suggestions & creativity - however, please read on:
1)Maximum width 999px x not too high, this is to be the masthead for an Actinic V7 site at 1024 x 768 resolution. Our aim / requirement is for a masthead 999 wide incorporating BOTH a logo and the name, the site constructs itself in the rest of the page below it. Therefore needs to blend into white on the bottom edge?
Consideration will be given to complete page background options with logo & name at the top, we can probably adapt, it is just not what we are used to / familiar with. Be creative!
2) Feedback will be given quickly to definite no-no's so you don't have to hang around, entries with a hope may receive hints/suggestions from us, undecideds may be delayed a while so we can consider the alternatives - so give it your best shot, don't rush in with junk - please give it some thought to have the best chance. We are watching, but we think we may have some difficult decisions ahead of us - this is why the prizes are set as they are.
3) The site will be offering products such as glass vases and mirror plates for table centres, together with decorative items to fill those vases; giant candelabra; wrought iron pedestals for flower arrangements; fake columns; fabric for decorating chair backs, and so on; in other words, DIY hardware for brides on a budget. They will still need a good budget, but not as much as if they paid an events organisation company. So a genuineness needs to shine through, reflecting the reputation that the site will gain.
4)Amberwood is the name of our house in the famous, ancient & unspoilt New Forest area of Hampshire, England, now designated a National Park. The house is named after one of the 'inclosures' in the forest, an inclosure being an ancient English term (see wikipedia if interested!) for a particular tract of common land, in this case, wooded. Because of this we may possibly favour a woodland theme and an Old-English style font for the name, (Arnold Boecklin if any of you have access to it). But this is not at all imperative if you have a better idea.
5) Main Prize set at the standard level, however further paid work such as a few buttons and site graphics may be requested from the winner later.
