Fresh Logo for Social Research Organization

The Edmonton Social Planning Council (ESPC) is looking for a new logo that represents the nature of our work.

Our mission is to address social issues impacting our communities – in particular low-income and poverty related issues – and promote positive changes to social policy.

Background

The Edmonton Social Planning Council (ESPC) is an independent, non-profit, charitable organization. Our focus is social research – particularly in the areas of low income and poverty. We are dedicated to encouraging the adoption of healthy social policy, supporting the work of other organizations working to improve the lives of Edmontonians, and educating the public regarding the social issues that impact them on a daily basis.

Goal of Logo Redesign

To give the ESPC a fresh, professional visual identity that better communicates who we are and what we do. We are hoping to have the logo reflect that our work is aimed at improving the lives of people, and making our communities more vibrant and inclusive.

Design Specifications

We are open to all original design concepts. However, the design should be simple and clean, without too much fine detail. It should have a modern and friendly feel. 

The logo should include our full name. We would like to see both vertically and horizontally aligned options.  

We are currently redesigning our website, and want the new logo to fit with the style and colour scheme we have chosen.

Colour preference: blue and green, as used in our new website (however, we are open to the use of other colours) 

Requirements

All designs must be original. The selected graphic artist will be required to sign a Copyright Release at the conclusion of the contest.  

The logo will be used on our new website, business cards, letterhead, reports, marketing materials, banners, and possibly on promotional items. The logo (image and font) should be scalable so that it is clear and legible in a range of sizes and formats. It should also maintain its character and quality in black and white.

Vector format preferred.

Timeline: Declaring a Winner

The contest winner will be declared by Friday, December 14 (one week after the contest closes).
