How Paddy Lavelle started their logo design journey
Our business is about helping people get what they want out of life by transforming how they think, look and feel about themselves. Our aim is to give people the confidence, self belief and courage to go after their dreams and grab the life they want now!
Coaching and training in a number of skills and techniques which address all of the ‘hang ups’, perceptions and barriers currently preventing them from achieving their goals.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Initially this service will be aimed at women who want to change some (or many) aspects of themselves. These women may come from different backgrounds and work inside or outside the home. They will be aged between 26 and 63. It may also be aimed at men, once established.
We require a logo that appeals to a cross section of adults in our target age group. The logo should reflect vitality, positivity, hope, excitement and possibility.
We have yet to decide whether or not to include our “.ie” web address in our logo so we would like to see designs with and without it.
We don't want any space between the two words
GrabLife (without a space between the words)
We want the 'G' and the 'L' to be in capitals as above.
The logo will be used in powerpoint presentations, from small groups to large professional conferences, so the colours, shape and design should work well when used in this format.
The logo will be a key driver in the branding of all other materials and promotion vehicles so the colours are important (e.g. red and black, while looking very sharp in a logo can be very harsh when used in powerpoint slides).
The files we require are of the EPS format so that they can be used in any application from print to web. It has to be possible to change specific logo elements, so no bitmap images that cannot be changed.
• We like the idea of the two words being different colours, however this is based on what we’ve seen so far, so we are not hung up about that.
We absolutely don't like the logos designed before now (see attached file)
• We don’t like the colour green as we think it is too limiting by its strong association with health.
• We don’t like brown as we don’t think it is ‘vital’ enough.
We don't like both words in full capitals i.e. GRABLIFE
• Please don’t use any stock images or clipart in the logo
