Bill Shadrach got their new logo design by running a design contest:
We need a great new logo for Jennifer Jester and the Jester’s Court Band!
Check out Bill Shadrach's Logo design contest…
Entertainment & The Arts
The Jennifer Jester and the Jester’s Court Band primarily plays to adults and young adults, ages 18 to 60 who have an eclectic listening style. The band plays and records music that is attractive to those who love rock/Americana, the steampunk/sci fi craze (learn more at the website "http://www.listal.com/list/steampunk-music"),country/bluegrass, new age, and even jazz.
Logo types to explore
This is a band logo and will be used in many ways on CD’s, signs, website, merchandise and more. The font style must be readable and the logo distinctive. This is not about jesters as fools or clowns so don’t start looking for jester clown images because this will not win the contest for you. That said, the client may be up for the inclusion of a well done jester hat and does like harlequin diamond patterns. A point of historical interest, jesters were actually storytellers, musicians, and were usually quite brilliant for being able to see the truth and making humor of a situation at the king’s court. The visual tone of the logo should be professional, fun, energetic, mystical, maybe even exotic but definitely classy. Note to all designers...we welcome your original ideas. Please be mindful of other designers and their original designs. We have run many contests, have personal relationships with the management of 99Designs and will report designers who steal from other competitors or who use rip-off clip art or public vector art. Your original ideas are welcomed and encouraged. As we will be copyright protecting the work, all submitted designs must be original works. Regarding the logo we seek, there are no restrictions on font style, however, the client really likes the font “Bleeding Cowboys Pro,” a font that is consistent with a steampunk theme. While the client is open to a variety of colors, be aware that the client likes darker reds, black, white oranges, yellow, hues of green, and blue. The client would be open to the logo being an integrated badge. Visual styles to considered are neo-victorian, steampunk and maybe a bit of the “wild west” in the USA. The new logo should be strong, clean, vibrant and very legible. The brand should in no way be soft, frilly or flowery. Please explore both positive and negative space. Lastly, we would like to explore multiple aspect ratios from roughly two widths to one height to a one width to one height.
