Cedar Rapids CVB got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Grounds for Art

Looking for an interesting and easy to read logo for an upcoming National Outdoor Sculpture Competition. The contest will be continued on a yearly basis and the logo will remain the same, possibly including the year.
Grounds for Art
What's your vision?
Tagline: Street-Level Sculpture Desired Style: modern Accepted File Formats: Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) There are no specific design or color requirements. But, the title - Grounds for Art - must at least be used. We would like the tag line - Street-Level Sculpture - also used if possible. The art exhibit will be displayed in the Downtown area of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There will be a minimum of 25 sculptures within walking distance of one another. Keep in mind the cost of reproducing the logo. Full color is an option, but it could be more economical (if the design permits) to stay within three colors.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $399.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.

99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
